2010-2011Grade Scales on PowerSchool (Monday, June 21, 2010)

Elementary Grade Scales (Click here

See attached document for a description of the grade scales that will be available on PowerSchool during the 2010-2011 school year.  The grade scales selected were based on responses to the survey distributed earlier this year.  No other grade scales will be available on PowerSchoolIf you used a different grade during the 2009-2010 school year on PowerSchool you need to select a grade scale appearing on the 2010-2011 grade scale announcement.

Schools should review these grade scales and select a grade scale for their use for the 2010-2011 school year.

IMPORTANT

It is important all schools using PowerSchools decide ASAP which grade scale they intend to use for the 2010-2011 school year.  Notifying your faculty and your school community of your grade scale selection should be communicated as you do normally;  e.g.,  update your School/Student/Parent handbook that communicates your grade scale.

High School Grade Scales (Click here)

An effort to streamline grade scales for high schools is currently underway.   Additional grade scales may be created to meet the needs of high schools beyond the current grade scales.

 PowerSchool Student Information System Minimize

The Office of Catholic Schools has selected a software product called PowerSchool Premier to provide a student information system for Archdiocese of Chicago Catholic Schools. A student information system helps student learning by automating classroom, instruction and administrative tasks while providing needed information directly to teachers, students and parents. Over the course of the next four years, schools are invited to adopt PowerSchool Premier. For the upcoming school year, the Office of Catholic Schools anticipates approximately 30 schools making use of the software.

If you are interested in implementing for the fall of 2011, please contact Mark Garstki, 312-534-5223.
