The ministry of leadership in the Catholic schools in the Archdiocese of Chicago is unique. It is a call to be the faith leader, the instructional leader, and the steward of the school’s vitality and viability.
With the goal of growing leadership in the Archdiocese of Chicago Catholic schools, the Office of Catholic Schools has formed a Leadership Academy for talented men and women who are interested in becoming an administrator in a Catholic school in the City of Chicago and suburban Cook and Lake counties.
Participants form a professional learning community, and they receive mentoring by experienced, successful principals within the system. An OCS principal from the first cohort shares, "The Leadership Academy gave me the opportunity to explore what it means to be a leader in today's Catholic schools. It encouraged and challenged me to become a visionary leader of a school that prepares students spiritually, academically, and socially for the future." The eighth cohort will begin in October 2018, and the application is attached.
